--- SELECTING THE FILM FORMAT ---
A 6x8 Film Format is added in the Film Format drop-down list.
(For 6x8 masking, use the Universal Mask (UM-M1) in our optional accessories.)
--- SELECTING THE FILM TYPE ---
The B&W Negative Film Type is available from the Film Type drop-down list when the "APS Cassette" is selected as a Film Format.
--- SAVING THE INDEX SCAN IMAGE ---
JPEG file format is selectable when saving the index scan as an image.
For Macintosh, the displayed index scan will be saved in the JPEG or PICT file formats.
--- PRESCAN WINDOW ---
AE-Lock Button is added in the prescan window.
(AE-Lock Button is added under Full Screen Button.)
AE LOCK (AUTO-EXPOSURE LOCK)
AE Lock is a function to lock auto-exposure settings. AE Lock lets you scan multiple images of prescans and final scans with the same initial exposure settings.
For example, it is useful when scanning bracketed exposures.
1. After prescanning with auto-exposure, click AE Lock Button in the
prescan window.
- Exposure setting of the prescan image is stored.
- Auto-exposure correction works under the following conditions:
- Prescanning negative films
- Prescanning positive films when "Auto Exposure for Slides" is
selected in the Preferences window.
2. Choose the image which you want to apply the same exposure setting
and then prescan it.
- The stored exposure setting is applied to newly prescanned
image.
- Images will be scanned using the same AE Lock settings until
AE Lock is cancelled (clicking AE Lock Button again and then
prescan) or the scanner is reinitialized.
- AE Lock does not work for positive films when "Auto Exposure
for Slides" is not selected in the Preferences window.
--- UTILITY SOFTWARE / File Format - FINAL SCAN ---
Since "16bit" and "16 bit linear" are supported as an image scan mode, TIFF 48 file format has been removed from file type pull-down menu.
See "Color Depth Options - Preferences dialog box" on this manual.
In the previous software version, the Prescan Size preference took effect after relaunching the software. In this version, this preference setting takes effect when the OK button in the dialog box is clicked. You do not have to relaunch the software.
--- COLOR DEPTH OPTIONS - PREFERENCES DIALOG BOX ---
The "Color depth" list box is added in the Preferences dialog box (below of the Prescan Size box).
Color depth list box
Version 1.1 allows you to select the pixel depth of each color channel used to scan your image. Following three options are available.
The default setting is 8bit.
"8bit": outputs 24bit image in 8bit for each RGB colors.
"16bit": outputs 48bit image in 16bit for each RGB colors.
"16bit linear": same as 16bit, but image correction is not applied
when the image is scanned.
Result remains in negatives if you scan negatives.
- If you are using a Dimage Scan Multi utility software, 16bit and/
or 16bit linear color depth are valid only when a TIFF is chosen
as a file format after final scanning.
- "Image size display" in the Scan Settings Dialog Box is displayed
in 16 bit size (double of 8 bit size).
- Some image-process applications do not support 16bit images.
--- SLIDE FEEDER SC-100 - ACCESSORY INFORMATION ---
Prescan is available for Version 1.1 when Slide Feeder SC-100 (optional accessory) is in use. (Prescan is available only for a slide at the bottom of the "IN" column.)

image corrections explained in the PRESCAN section in the
